GPT: TAJ MAHAL

by Daniele Pitarresi The world-famous indian temple has been the subject for a GPT test card well known to advanced collectors.

Actually, no proof exists that this card was really used in India, or that it was produced to be used in that Country. Anyway, it's a beautiful card, sought after by many collectors: but not all know that at least 4 different versions of this card exist, that we are proud to show here.

1. No wordings on front, black backside without control number

2. No wordings on front, black backside with control 2EXHC

3. "GPT 100" overprint on front, black backside with control 2EXHC

4. "Plessey Payphone Card - 1000 units" on front, white backside, without notch

All these cards are loaded, magnetically charged, even the one with white back, that is uncommon for this kind of GPT tests. However, we may assume that unloaded cards with white back may exist. In my opinion, these cards could be valued around 80-140 euro (#1), 180-250 euro (#2), 500 euro (#3), 400 euro if loaded, or 120 unloaded if existing (#4).
