THE REAL FIRST ISSUES FROM KAZAKHSTAN

The card considered to be the first one issued in Kazakhstan (at left) is well known and sought after by collectors, but not all know that other cards have been used previously indeed.

They have been in use in Alma Ata, Kazakhstan capital town, and they were rechargeable cards: for this reason, the cards are nowadays quite rare and to find them in good conditions is almost impossible. In fact, being used several times, they were soon worn out hardly. Similar cards, that could be considered forerunners, have been used in Belarus and some Russian regions. We estimate that the cards from Alma Ata could be valued from 150 to 300 euros, according their face value.
