| GUAM AND RATAK ISLANDS |
| The two series here reproduced are just a part of a great quantity of beautiful cards with interesting countries names printed on them, that has just a single common feature: they are all absolutely fake. |
One of the methods used by card forgers to sell rapidly their fraudolent production, is to print cards that could seem to come from countries that have not issued phonecards yet, or that have a limited and rare production. Besides Guam and Ratak Islands, that we introduce in this page, we are aware of other series, probably coming from the same source, with names like Saipan, Wake Islands, Ralik Islands, Jarvis, Pagan, Johnston, all absolutely beautiful and fake.Front side of the cards would recall caribbean cards issued by Cable and Wireless, and in fact they are quite similar both for subjects and for printing quality. The difference with real GPT cards is easily discovered simply looking at the back, which is almost the same for all the cards and quite different from the GPTs. Here we have a white back with a magstripe with precise information about issue and expiry date and quantity printed (of course all fake). Usually cards are sold unmagnetized, but we must say that they could be easily loaded with videoshops or photocopies machines. ![]() You can easy see as forgers tried to confound potential buyers with wordings graphichs: just look at Caribbean and Pacific words: they are almost the same, and the word phonecard is exactly in the same position. No card from Caribbean or Pacific exist with such a back, or with the logo Pacific phonecard here reproduced. Our compliments to the forgers for the high quality of their fake cards, quite better than several others (Malawi, Zambia, etc.). ![]()
